The power of a trusted network

We have an excellent CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system, but we only started using it about five years ago. I wish we had started from the very beginning.

One of the things I love most about it is that it reminds me just how wide our network has become. It's also a little history of our company, documenting the relationships we've built and reminding me how many older New Yorkers we've had the privilege of helping since 2010.

When I first started Paper Moon Moves, I dreamed of creating a directory of every person I met who provides a useful service for New Yorkers navigating aging, and families grieving the loss of someone they love. But every time I sat down to work on it, I quickly became overwhelmed. It was simply too ambitious.

Instead, people call us when they need a referral. And I'm genuinely happy to help. I love connecting people with trustworthy professionals. But I wish there were an easier way for people outside our industry to understand just how many resources are available, and how those resources can support them through life's transitions.

The infographic below represents just a sampling of the professionals who help New York City seniors, their families, and estate executors.

Behind every circle are real people - people we trust to care for our clients with compassion and professionalism.

If you're exploring senior living, we can introduce you to residence staff, placement agents, and senior living advisors who can help you select the right community. When it's time to sell a home or move, we can connect you with experienced real estate agents and movers.

If your goal is to age in place, we know home healthcare agencies, geriatricians and physical therapists who make house calls, geriatric care managers who coordinate care, and daily money managers who can help with finances and bill paying.

If you or someone you love is facing a medical challenge, we can connect you with professionals at rehabilitation centers, and patient advocates who help families navigate hospital stays and complex medical systems.

For financial and legal planning, we work closely with trust and estate attorneys, financial advisors, CPAs, insurance brokers, and professional fiduciaries.

If someone you love is approaching the end of life, we know compassionate hospice professionals, death doulas, clergy, rabbis, grief counselors, and funeral home directors.

And if your goal is simply to empty a home or downsize, we can introduce you to auction houses, dealers, appraisers, donation centers, junk removal companies, shredding services, and cleaning companies.

Paper Moon Moves is just one circle in this network.

One of the greatest privileges of our work has been getting to know so many remarkable people who have dedicated their careers to helping others. We may all have different specialties, but we share a common purpose: helping people navigate some of life's biggest transitions with a little more confidence and a little less stress.
